Programs

Bilingual programs that grow with your child, from infants to pre-K

Our infant, toddler, and preschool programs blend Montessori-style learning, play-based exploration, and structured play — all taught in Spanish so children grow up bilingual without sitting through a language class.

Overview

Three programs, one bilingual center

Each classroom is shaped around what children that age actually need — safe routines, hands-on activities, and steady teacher-child connection in both Spanish and English.

Our approach

How we teach: Spanish, Montessori-style, and play

A blend of approaches that supports independence, language development, and the natural curiosity children already bring to the room.

Spanish immersion

Spanish is the daily language of the classroom — through songs, stories, transitions, mealtime, and play. Children acquire it the way they acquired their first language: by hearing it and using it.

Montessori-style learning

Hands-on materials and child-led work that build independence, focus, and care for the environment — adapted to fit each age group.

Play-based exploration

Open-ended play, sensory stations, and creative activities where children make meaning, solve problems, and learn to work with each other.

Structured play and routine

Predictable transitions, mealtimes, and rest times give children the security to take risks, try new things, and build confidence.

Program

Infant Care

For babies, care should feel gentle, attentive, and steady. We focus on comfort, individualized routines, sensory development, and strong one-on-one connection — feeding on each baby's schedule, soft Spanish-language songs and conversation, plenty of tummy time, and a calm room where infants can feel secure.

  • Individualized feeding and nap routines
  • Comforting, one-on-one care
  • Spanish-language songs, books, and conversation
  • Sensory play, tummy time, and early exploration
  • Parents provide formula and baby food; everything else is taken care of

Toddler Care

Toddlers learn by moving, exploring, repeating, and interacting. Our toddler room blends Montessori-style hands-on activities with play-based exploration — active play, simple routines, social learning, and Spanish-language stories and songs that help toddlers naturally build a second language while they're building their first.

  • Active play and motor-skill development
  • Bilingual storytime and conversation
  • Montessori-style hands-on materials
  • Social learning alongside peers
  • Simple routines that build independence

Preschool and Pre-K Readiness

Preschool-age children benefit from a balance of structure, hands-on discovery, and guided learning. Our preschool room supports early literacy in both English and Spanish, early math, art, music, social skills, and the confidence and habits that help children step into kindergarten ready to learn.

  • Bilingual early reading and language activities
  • Counting, shapes, sorting, and problem-solving
  • Art, music, and creative expression
  • Group interaction and confidence-building
  • Kindergarten-readiness routines and habits

Inclusion

Every child belongs at Malave

We welcome children with IEPs, IFSPs, developmental delays, and special health needs. We partner with Pennsylvania Early Intervention and IU13, adapt classroom routines and materials, and align our practices with PA OCDEL inclusion standards.
